There aren’t a lot of foods that can compare to broccoli and blueberries for their disease fighting potential.
Broccoli:
Broccoli is full of “sulforaphane”, which is an antioxidant that’s linked to reducing your risk of a bunch of cancers, especially lung, stomach, colon, and rectal cancers. Broccoli also has anti-inflammatory properties, which is important for reducing your risk of inflammation and decreasing it in your body.

Benefits:
- An Excellent source of vitamin C.
- A good source of beta carotene.
- Huge amounts of protein, calcium, iron, potassium, and other minerals.
- Rich in glucosinolate (natural cancer fighters).
- Low in calories and high in fiber.
Blueberries:
Blueberries are rich in anthocyanins – compounds that help protect your heart and may stop the growth of cancer cells. Studies suggest the blueberry anthocyanins protect against neuro-degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s and can even slow down and reverse age-related memory loss.

Benefits:
- A good source of dietary fiber.
- An excellent source of antioxidants.

- May help prevent urinary tract infections.
- Anthocyanins may help prevent heart disease and may help with memory loss.
It’s still not clear how much of these foods you need to eat to get the benefits, but it does make a heck of a lot of sense to include broccoli and blueberries in your eating plan.
Do you add these 2 “perfect” foods into your daily eating plan?

I love these 2 foods. I eat broccoli pretty much every day for dinner and am going to pick fresh blueberries today!
Wow every day for dinner?! thats so awesome! good for you.
I hear yah with the blueberries..gotta pick me up some fresh ones today too
We try to have berries for breakfast everyday. I just happened to finish a large tray of fresh raspberries this morning. My only issue is that they don't keep very long.
Broccoli has been a favorite of bodybuilders for decades. It's high fiber, low carb, and even good for balancing hormones.
I personally don't ALWAYS add these two “perfect” foods into my daily eating plan, but I do eat them on occasion. It's very true that both of these particular types of food can bring you many essentials that you need daily though for your body to run at full capacity.
