Red Bull Revisited: Shocking Info

A while back I blogged about how people were guzzling down Red Bull in the wee hours of the morning.  If you didn’t have a chance to read it you can check it out right here.

But if you recall my review on the ingredients in Red Bull wasn’t a good one.  Well it just so happens that a study conducted by some Australian Medical Researchers discovered that the beverage can cause heart attacks and strokes in young people.

Yah I know what your thinking “HOLY FREAKIN’ CRAP!”

Can you believe it?  Stores actually sell this stuff…stuff that can kill you!

Basically what happens is that your blood becomes sticky, which obviously doesn’t flow through your body as easily and can end up causing you cardiovascular problems like a stroke.

“One hour after they drank Red Bull, (their blood systems) were no longer normal. They were abnormal like we would expect in a patient with cardiovascular disease”

Lead researcher from the Cardiovascular Research Centre at the Royal Adelaide Hospital

The researches also tested the cardiovascular systems of 30 young individuals, 1 hour before and 1 hour after they had drank one 250 ml sugar-free can of Red Bull.

From this test the researches concluded that normal people developed indicators normally linked with cardiovascular disease after consuming the high-energy beverage.

Now what makes it even more deadly is the fact that people use it to keep themselves awake and alert.  If you think about it the people who really need to consume a beverage to stimulate their body are people who are stressed, and have high blood pressure.  Having these people consume a Red Bull is just suicide.

If you really want to stimulate your body and feel more awake go for jog or hit up a workout.  You’ll get better benefits and release endorphins that will give you a natural high.

The drink itself has also been banned in Norway, Uruguay and Denmark because of it’s health risks.  Which should give you some indication that maybe this drink might just be unhealthy for you.

But if you’re looking to gain some quick energy, please think twice about chugging down a Red Bull.
