The Unexpected Workout

BoxYesterday I was helping my friend Ryan from The Urban Athlete take a couple boxes of tiles from his car up to the studio.

As you can imagine these tiles were not light.  They easily weighed at least 30 pounds a box.  What made it even more of a pain was that he parked at the side of the building rather than in front (not on purpose though).

So there we were going back and forth carrying these boxes of tiles under the super hot mid day sun.

By the end of it we were both dripping of sweat and we we’re probably only out there for 15 minutes.  But it actually looked as if we went for run that lasted for an hour!

I guess this is why it’s always important to be hydrated.  You never know when something might come up and you’ll have to put those muscles through some labor.  If you’re not hydrated properly and engage in some sort of strenuous activity, you run the risk of feeling light headed and even fainting.

You should always have a bottle of water on hand with you wherever you go, especially because the warm weather is  now turning into hot weather.  If you drive just leave a small case of bottled water in the trunk so you’ll always be well stocked and well hydrated.
