  • The Best Exercise To Burn Fat

Posted in Women's Fitness on July 21st, 2008 by Marci Lall | View Comments

number1Out of all the exercises we have to pick and choose from is there an exercise that specializes in burning fat?

I’m always asked this question when I train a new client or do fitness talks for companies.

There really isn’t one exercise that burns fat, but there is a principle that you can apply that will allow you to burn that maximum amount of fat.

The principle that you must apply is…INTENSITY.

This means that any exercise that gets your heart rate going and in your targeted heart range is a good exercise to burn fat.

One of the keys to losing weight and removing the plateau effect is to exercise hard enough to increase your pulse rate, which will in return burn fat more efficiently.

Whichever exercise you choose to get your heart rate up will increase your metabolism and help burn more fat when your at rest.  So if you find an exercise that you like and can increase the intensity in different ways you’ll burn the fat fast.

Finding an exercise that burns fat is really not that difficult.  Any exercise can burn fat if you increase the intensity and get your heart rate in your target zone.

    Heres a quick list:

    • Walking
    • Hiking
    • Playing a sport
    • Spinning
    • Interval training

Try to do something that interests you so you’ll enjoy it and have a much better chance of sticking with it.

Create a short list of activities and exercises you like to do. From there create your own program revolving around your chosen exercises and presto!  You’ve got yourself a nice routine that has the exercises that will allow YOU to burn fat.
