Today was a magnificent day..do you know why? Because children from far and wide had to get up and go to school.
I actually celebrated by whipping my sisters’ bedroom door open and chanted “Back to school, back to school” – I know it’s a little evil, but it was awesome!
But since it’s back to school I decided that I’d take this post on a more formal path…Pfft I can’t even keep a straight face much less take this post on a “formal path”…anyways today I wanted to go over a topic that every woman dislikes, but knows they have to fix.
F A T
That’s right the famous “F” word.
Here’s my little “Back To School” lesson for you today.
Within your body you have fat cells, each fat cell can increase in size at any age from the time you’re born to the time you pass away. Research also indicates that the number of fat cells you have are fixed and happen at an early time in your life.
So this might lead you to think that if you kept your body fat at a low range as a child you would be less likely to become over weight or obese. Sorry to burst your bubble but that not the case. In fact studies have provided evidence that suggests you number of fat cells can continue to increase throughout your life.

Human Fat Cells
The most recent studies have concluded that as fat is added to your body, existing fat cells continue to fill with fat to a certain critical volume. It doesn’t get better from there either. Once the cell is filled to this point new fat cells are formed.
I know it’s pretty crazy huh?!
But in all this darkness there is some light at the end of the tunnel. The amount of fat you accumulate depends on a couple factors.
What you eat
Your exercise habits, and
Heredity
Obviously heredity is unchangeable, but you have no excuse not to make an effort and alter your eating and exercise behaviors to decrease your fat stores.
That’s all for today’s lesson, and hopefully this post gave you a better idea of what fat is and how you can control it before it controls you.
