  • Lose Inches With a Peripheral Heart Action Circuit

Posted in Women's Fitness on February 5th, 2010 by Marci Lall | View Comments

The Peripheral Heart Action Circuit was developed by Dr. Arthur Steinhaus and gained popularity during the 1960’s. The Peripheral Heart Action Circuit was designed so that the blood in your body continues to circulate during a workout.  Also keep in mind that your heart muscles are worked before your body’s bigger muscles.

Peripheral Heart Action is similar to circuit training but it’s different in that it doesn’t focus on one particular muscle group.  Peripheral Heart Action allows you to choose an exercise that will help you pump the blood to your body’s ends so the blood does not remain local and prevents any build up of lactic acid.

In addition, Peripheral Heart Action helps you obtain results from your workout without becoming fatigued from the build up of lactic acid.

Peripheral Heart Action works well if you want to lose fat and gain endurance for your muscles. It’s also recommended if you want to increase your overall wants strength.

Typically, a Peripheral Heart Action workout consists of you performing about a handful of certain exercises targeting your upper and lower muscles.  You would then alternate one exercise for the upper part of the torso and then one for the lower part of the body. The workout would consist of between 5 and 6 repetitions for each cycle.   As a female who wants to tone and firm your muscle you’ll want to go for 12-15 reps at a light to medium weight instead.

Overall, the Peripheral Heart Action Circuit can be recommended for anyone who wishes to lose fat and gain muscle as well as endurance. Women may find this form of exercise beneficial because it’s often more difficult for them to lose weight with traditional exercises. This form of exercise may also be more effective for women because it provides variety in the workout program whereas traditional programs can become easily boring and mundane.

Speaking of variety if you need to add some spice to your workout routines make sure you pick up your copy of The Rebound Workout for dozens of done-for-you workouts and ideas to help you burn more fat fast.
