Euro Finals And Your Mindset

I’m looking forward to this afternoon, it’s the Euro 2008 finals and I’m pretty excited, cause I know it’s going to be a great game.  What I really enjoy seeing, and this is with any professional sport, is the focus and determination these athletes have to be number one.

There are also times however, where you see the players have a lack of focus or get frustrated because things don’t go their way.  They make bad decisions, can’t hit the target, and ultimately lose their positive momentum causing them to lose their self-confidence in their abilities.

The same principle applies to you and your mind set when your working to lose weight.  On some days, you may be on the top of your game, your workouts are going great, your eating healthy, and your clothes are fitting much better.  At this point your ecstatic! You have positive thoughts running through your mind and you constantly feel motivated to keep going until you reach your goal.

But on some days, you feel lousy, you’re too tired to exercise, you can’t control what you eat, and your weight’s not budging at all.  At this point you’re feeling really down, and all you want to do is curl up in a corner away from everybody else.  There’s no surprise here that you’ll be having negative thoughts running through your mind.  But just like the professional athletes, it’s how you bounce back from the low times that matter.

You have to build up your confidence once more and get that positive momentum back.  Start off by doing something simple like making yourself a healthy breakfast at the start of your day, this will get you energized for your exercise routine and have you feeling alive for the rest of your day.

One thing leads to the next, so if you can build up your “mind set momentum” and keep working towards your goals on your bad days, you’ll be crossing the finish line in record time.
