  • The Big Breakfast Diet

Posted in Lifestyle, Women's Nutrition on June 18th, 2008 by Marci Lall | View Comments

At times losing weight can be a tricky and frustrating task to accomplish.  It’s definitely not easy to change up your lifestyle once your accustomed to living a certain way, but it is possible with a bit of effort and consistency.

I’m often asked if I had the opportunity to give just one tip about weight loss what would it be?

    Here’s what I tell them…

    “…Eat a big breakfast!”

There’s more than enough research out there that backs up this fact.  If every morning you take the time to prepare yourself a proper breakfast that contains nutritious carbohydrates, lean protein, and healthy fats then you will see a positive change to your body.

Recently a study showed that if you do skip breakfast you’ll not only deprive your body of valuable nutrients but also put on more weight.

Also If you don’t eat, your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to different sources of energy to perform normal physiological functions – and yes one of those sources are fats.

But if you eat meals consistently (breakfast included), then it will increase your metabolism and allow your body to keep burning calories.

So if you’re one of those people who enjoy skipping breakfast or miss out eating breakfast for whatever reason, then I encourage you to wake up a half hour earlier to fuel your mind and body with a breakfast fit for a queen!
