OverwhelmEven though I create “to do” lists and try to be super organized (key-word is try), I still end up, at times feeling so overwhelmed with all the tasks I have to do in a day.  It’s like I can’t even think straight and my brain becomes paralyzed.  At this point I just can’t work or concentrate on anything.  This is where I listen to my body and do something mindless!

I either go for a quick run, take a nap, or play video games to clear my mind and prevent myself from thinking and becoming stressed out.

You might get this same feeling of being overwhelmed when you want to lose weight or are in the process of losing weight.  There’s a million things you have to think about everyday.  Things like making sure you exercise,  cook your meals, eat healthy foods, get enough rest etc.  Even though you have to be disciplined in order to achieve your long term goal, it’s very important that the process doesn’t make you feel overwhelmed.  If this does happen then you run the risk of quitting or not enjoying the process.

With everything that you have to juggle in your day you must make time to clear and relax your mind.  Whatever you choose to do is totally up to you.  But after you complete you brain break, you should feel ready to tackle your task.

Here are some ideas to help you prevent the feeling of being overwhelmed.

  • Read a fictional book
  • Be pampered with a manicure or pedicure or both!
  • Watch a funny movie or show
  • Plant something in your garden
