So week number 2 of Mirs training is complete. I must say she’s doing really well and her commitment to becoming healthier and more fit definitely is showing. You can see what she has to say below and I’ve also put together a little top-secret video footage for you to get a taste of what she’s going through.
Legs legs legs! I sincerely dislike mine and was ecstatic to find out that I would be focusing on them during week 2 of my 12 week workout. If there is any pain I enjoy feeling, it’s the one that runs through my legs after a successful hour or so of pushing them to the max!
My first two days went quite smoothly during the second week. I had a better understanding of how hard I should be pushing myself and was determined to overcome the struggles I faced during week one. The good news is that I succeeded the first two days, but the bad news is that I had a little accident on day three which held me back a little.I will share this story with you only because I know if I don’t then Marci will…
So there I was at the start of the day going about my usual business. As I was taking my early morning shower I slipped on some shampoo that had drizzled between my fingers and onto the bottom of my shower and I went flying into the wall. As I attempted to catch myself before falling I ended up slamming my left knee into the corner on this built in seat like thing in the shower.
Yes, I cried. Yes, I was alone. And yes, my over dramatic self felt the need to be even more over dramatic so I sat there with water spraying down on me for minutes before I decided to stop bitching and move my leg. I was fine. Swollen and a little bruised, but fine. But because of my past knee injuries I had enough sense to know that it would be a bad idea to continue with the schedule Marci had given me for the third day, so we focused on hips and upper body again.
I think many women can agree with me when I say that our hips are one of our bigger problems – no pun intended. So it was, initially, a nice thought when Marci said we would be working on them along with the upper body. What he didn’t tell me that about 2/3 of the way I would feel like they would collapse on me at any moment! But anyway, I did it – of course I added a few screams, a few vulgar words, maybe even a few threats towards Marci, but he pushed me and I did it!
We focused mostly on arms this day and I am not ashamed to admit that I was sore and useless for about 48 to 72 hours after the workout. Putting on and taking off clothing was more of a task than I had ever anticipated. I think I got more of a work out while struggling with everyday tasks in those few days than I ever did any other.
The good news is that my arms are back in action and I’m ready for the following weeks’ challenges. 2 down, 10 to go!!
