Today was a failry long day for me. With training clients, developing programs, replying to loads of emails, writing articles…the list goes on and on. I’m not telling you this to brag, but to let you know that I know how it feels to be SUPER busy. Chances are, you’re probably more busier than I am. But going non-stop since 6am does do some damage to the body and the mind. You’re probably asking yourself how I have the time to write this post…the truth is I’m writing this on my mobile on the subway ride home.
But going back to my point. If you’re working every minute without taking breaks to refresh, re-energize, and rest then that’s not good. I had a 30 minute break between clients and I was feeling pretty tired. To recharge my batteries I took a walk down to a local park, sat dow, listened to some “chillin” music on my ipod and just sat there observing whatever was around me.

I didn’t touch my laptop and I didnt touch my phone. I needed to give my brain a well deserved rest.
If you do you find yourself feeling a little sluggish in the afternoon try some of these simple “pick me ups”.
- Grab a smoothie
- Go for a run
- Enjoy a group exercise class
- Meditate
- Sit somewhere quiet
They’re simple things you can do and they’ll for sure provide you with a good break to relax. If you have any relaxation techniques or activities that you find work well let us know and I’ll add it to the list.
